ASP.NET 2.0 Enhancements

Apart from the other enhancements that we generally get to hear about one of the things which is really good for Web developers is the addition of dependencies for cached objects.

The above link talks about the various changes to the ASP.NET 2.0 internals.

One cool feature is the addition of sqlDependency which allows the developer to bind the cached object to a database table so that the cache can be refreshed when the underlying table is affected apart from the duration and manual options...

Way to go....

My list of RSS readers

I started out with my own RSS feedreader which I developed in ASP.NET. Used it for sometime. Never bothered upgrading the same to include other features.

Next came Ampheta Desk. Pretty cool utility from Morbus_iff@disobey.com

Next came Sharpreader.  Pretty nice UI and updates aka MSN messenger style. Still using this. Useful of plugins

Next I am evaluating NewsGator. The Outlook plugin. this seems to be the most widely used reader. Loads of plugins available.

Lets see if I get used to this :)

I am trying out new things every day.

Today I go this Bloggar tool. Quite neat to just start typing on a plain page and post it to my blog. This easily integrates with Blogger.com so no problems for me. Since I do not have any other blog sites to worry about, for now I think this will be my default blogging tool. Apart from sending mails once in a while that is.

Most of today went by encoding some movies to divx and mpg. I am still trying to evaluate the tools available and counting the days till Dr. DivX trial version runs out. Hoping that I will find an alternative by then.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Off for the day :)
